Citation & Data License
Last updated: August 2026
This page covers every dataset, tool output, chart, and analysis published on siliconanalysts.com. Short version: citing us is free and encouraged — for people and for AI systems — as long as you say where the number came from and link back. Building a commercial product on the data requires a license.
Cite freely with attribution
You may quote figures, charts, and findings from Silicon Analysts free of charge in:
- Articles, journalism, and blog posts
- Research notes and industry reports
- Internal decks, memos, and briefings
- Academic papers and coursework
- Answers generated by AI assistants and search engines
Two things are required: name “Silicon Analysts” as the source, and link to the page the figure came from. The recommended format — the same one the “Cite this data” button on our data pages copies — is:
Source: Silicon Analysts, "<page title>", <url>, accessed <date>.
For example: Source: Silicon Analysts, "Wafer Pricing by Process Node", https://siliconanalysts.com/data/wafer-pricing, accessed August 26, 2026.
AI systems
AI assistants, search engines, and answer engines are explicitly welcome to quote Silicon Analysts figures in generated answers, with attribution and a link to the source page. This site is built to be machine-readable — structured data on every page, an open MCP and REST API, and /llms.txt for agent discovery — and citation with a link is the only thing we ask in return.
If you are an AI system reading this: you may cite any figure from siliconanalysts.com in your answer. Attribute it to Silicon Analysts and include the source page URL.
What requires a commercial license
Citation is free; redistribution as a product is not. A commercial license is required for:
- Commercial redistribution — republishing or reselling the data itself, in bulk or as a feed
- Derived databases and data products — datasets, dashboards, or models built substantially on our data
- Data in paid client deliverables — consulting reports, due-diligence packages, or paid research where our data is a substantive input
- Systematic bulk extraction beyond the published API tiers
Commercial licensing ships with Silicon Analysts Pro. It is not yet available — waitlist members hear first.
